Update from the Committee!

We hope you’ve all enjoyed your summer break, in these scorching temperatures. Hopefully, you’ve started to get that itch for hockey once again.

Club Day
To welcome everyone back after the long summer break we are having a club day on Saturday 13th August, there is going to be a mix of events at the pitch, with matches, food, drinks & music. This will also act as a recruitment drive, so if you know anyone who wants to join, this will be a great way to get them involved. Look for more details on club day soon.

Training
We are pleased to say that training is now set to return in August. With Women’s starting back on the 9th and Men’s on the 11th. Junior training will be starting again in September with new time slots to try and give teams as much pitch space as possible. Please see the information below for times:

U8s: 18:30-19:00
U11s: 18:30-19:30
All other age groups 19:00-20:30

Indoor
Got that itch to get back to hockey sooner, well we have had a sponsor who is interested in funding the start of an indoor team for the club. This has already started and is taking place on Thursday evenings (19:30-21:00) at Sharples school until training starts in August when it will then move to Wednesday evenings.

Kit Ordering
Kit is now also available for the new season. Y1 now have stock of all sizes in the UK, available on a 7-day turnaround. If you require a new squad number, please message your captain before ordering. We also have a great selection of winter wear, it might sound crazy now, but British weather will be back, and hoodies, leggings and coats will do you well in the wet, windy weather.

Facilities
The club have also now had confirmation that the renovations to the Pavilion are set to be underway soon and will be ready for just after the start of the new season. These include updated changing rooms, new fully stocked vending machines and access to the inside of the pavilion.

Social Events & Media
The club is looking to do much both in person and online. The events team are looking to do more social events as a club this year, allowing more cross-over between the teams. We are also looking at a new permanent social base to run events from.

We look to the excellent example of the Ladies 1’s for match reports and pictures from Instagram. The social team will be looking for help in gathering media and short match reports to help push the plaudits of all our teams. Anyone looking to help please contact our social team at social@boltonhockeyclub.co.uk

Any ideas for social media challenges or interesting titbits, please send them along as well.

Look out for more announcements soon!
