The game started with Chester looking the brighter side. However the centre back duo of Ryan Aldred and James Taylor mopping up all of Chesters advances. Boltons Pace was always causing Chester trouble on the break and 15 minutes in Bolton’s mini-maestro Kyran Chitre put Bolton ahead. Ten minutes later it was man of the match Kyran again who chased down what seemed like a dead ball winning an excellent penalty corner, which was convert with aplomb by Sam Robinson who dragged the ball into top bins. Just before the break Bolton won another penalty corner and a change in routine saw Gibraltar International Lee Ramagge rifle the ball bottom left to give Bolton a 3-0 lead at the break.
Chester started the second half looking to get back into the game and 10 minutes after the break pulled it back to 3-1. In the 55th minute Sam Robinson restored Bolton’s three goal advantage with a brilliant solo goal. Intercepting a Crossfield pass, he then beat the last man, riding the tackle intending to break down play and rifled the ball from the top of the D into the back of the onion bag. Five minutes later Chester pulled one more back from a penalty corner, but it was too little, too late as Bolton ran the clock down to win 4-2.
