

Bolton Men’s 1st team delivered a commanding performance in their cup semi-final, sweeping aside Fylde Men’s 1s with a resounding 10–1 victory to book their place in the final, where they will face either Formby or St Helens. Bolton entered the match in excellent form, having won five of their last six games, including a confident 5–1 win over Didsbury in the previous round, and that momentum was clear from the opening minutes.
The scoring began just three minutes in when Nikhil Patel converted a well-worked penalty corner to give Bolton an early advantage. The lead was doubled in the 12th minute by youngster Kyle Hatch, who was making his first appearance for the first team. Already a promising player within the club, Hatch took his chance superbly, finishing calmly to mark a memorable step up in level.
From there, Bolton’s attacking rhythm only strengthened. Sam Robinson added a tidy finish in the 22nd minute, followed shortly afterwards by Edward Lynch. The moment of the match came in the 26th minute courtesy of James Beamish, who produced a spectacular back-whack that flew past the keeper, an outstanding goal worthy of a cup semi-final. Fylde managed to respond almost immediately, but Bolton quickly restored their cushion when Aaron Patel struck just two minutes later, taking the score to 6–1 at the break.
Sam Robinson continued his fine form, firing home from a penalty corner in the 39th minute. Robinson completed his hat-trick with a late field goal and a confidently dispatched penalty stroke, while Edward Lynch added his second of the match in the 69th minute to round off a superb team performance.
Bolton’s 10–1 victory showcased their confidence, quality and clinical finishing, hallmarks of their recent strong form. With standout contributions from Beamish, Robinson and the impressive youngster Hatch, Bolton head into the final full of belief and momentum.
