Bolton Women’s 3s played away at Horwich this past weekend. With the young Bolton side starting the game in a positive manner with winning an early short corner. But captain Katie Bent was unable to convert on this opportunity. Bolton continued to apply pressure but were unfortunate to find themselves a goal down against the run of play. Bolton conceded two further goals in the first half.

But the second half was all Bolton who looked to build their confidence in the second half. Bolton applied wave after wave of pressure resulting in a breakthrough goal when captain Katie Bent fed the ball through to forward Anna Howarth who’s start play allowed Viv Lake to run through on goal and smash the ball past the Horwich keeper. Bolton were unfortunate not to add to their tally in the game before Horwich scored a breakaway goal. With the game ending 4-1 to Horwich. But with the leagues top two now out of the way for the young Bolton team the opportunities look bright for this developing side.
