On Sunday Bolton W3s travelled to Manchester Moss Park to a wet, freezing morning. Moss took control of the game quickly, but Bolton young legs were able to keep control and Louisa Yoxall flew up the right wing and out ran Moss players. Bolton were unable to put the ball in the net, with attacks from Viv Lake, Emma Begg, Nicky Ashurst and Anna Haworth. Moss turned the ball over and took control of the Bolton's D and finding a foot on the line with Bolton's last man, gave Moss Park a penalty stroke, which they converted. Bolton's head went down and they found them selves 3 nil down at half time.
After a strong team talk, Bolton came out firing, with a new found determination and were soon on the attack. Finding a foul in the D, Nicky Ashurst pushed out to Emma Begg, slipped to Isabelle Baird, and fired it into the net. Game on! Midfield of Rebecca Parkinson, Caitlyn Murray, Viv Lake all held firm and with Lake sending a ball flying across the D to waiting Caitlyn Murray, who neatly tipped it by the keeper and into the Moss park goal. Bolton,s back line Emma Verghese, Caitlyn Walker and Katie Burgess did not let the ball find the D in the second half, moving the ball to the mid and to the forwards and finding another D in the foot to give Bolton another penalty corner. Ashurst pushed the ball out to top D to Viv Lake to cleanly smashed the ball into the back of the net, making it 3 - 3.
With minutes to go, Bolton went for the win, winning another penalty corner, Ashurst pushing out to Lake, finding the post to let Bolton's players tip the ball over, to make it 4 - 3, but no, goal disallowed as the ball rolled over the back of Boltons players stick. Full time drawn 3-3 with Bolton heads held high.
