6. Player Pathway

Junior training takes place on the same night for all age groups. This allows the players and parents to see the progression that has been put in place, that their children can & will take as they learn and grow at BHC.

From U8, through U10, to Badgers and Beavers, a clear defining development progression.

When a junior comes of age and ability, they are invited to junior adult training. This is split via gender, with Women's on one night and Men’s on another. This is to allow the younger players to once again see the pathway before them, and start to play with players of a stronger ability, to prepare them to play adult hockey.

Training maybe split by ability groups, with 1’s training alone and 2’s/3’s training together, but this is often based on the exercises being performed and the coach’s current training regime.

No player is put in a position where they are doing something they will be uncomfortable with.

Once they are confident enough, they will be invited to play in our development adult teams (Currently 3’s for both Men’s & Women’s). Here they will encounter a nurturing environment with a mix of youngsters slightly further along their career development and adults who have the knowledge to pass along.

As they get used to adult hockey they will make the full-time transition away from Badgers and into adult hockey and up the adult ladder to the very top!
