Club COVID Policy
Health, Safety & COVID-19 Response 3 of 6

3. Club COVID Policy

As a responsible sports club, we would like to clarify our current position in relation to COVID-19.

Bolton Hockey Club will continue to run training and participate in matches until Government Guidance / England Hockey / Affiliated League Guidance tells us otherwise.

However, there are a number of measures that we can take as individuals to try to reduce the spread of the virus:

  1. If you feel unwell, or have any symptoms of cold or flu, please do not attend training, and let your captain or coaches know prior to a match that you are not available.
  2. If you have been in close contact with a person testing positive for coronavirus, then please do not attend training/matches also.
  3. If you have travelled back from any ‘high risk’ areas in the last 7 days, please follow the guidance from the government and inform captains and coaches accordingly.
  4. Although it appears no calls to 111 are being taken with regards to COVID-19 now, there is still a link on the NHS 111 website which takes you through a short survey of symptom related questions, which will then advise on what measures to take in relation to your symptoms.
  5. Please consider the impact that training and playing hockey in close contact with each other could have, not only on fellow members, but also their families and the wider population.
  6. Please ensure that we follow good standards of hygiene, have your own water bottles at training, and avoid shaking hands and other close contact gestures that are just our ‘norm’
  7. We are all accountable for our actions and it is important that we act responsibly in the coming days and weeks, from ensuring our own standards of hygiene , to following and understanding the guidance that the Government and England Hockey issue.

Provided we follow these guidelines, we can still have fun and play hockey, we just need all on members to be vigilant and act responsibly!

If you have any concerns please contact our Covid Officer Fiona Clarke on welfare@boltonhockeyclub.co.uk

Thanks
